The EA European Academy of Technology and Innovation Assessment GmbH was created as a non-profit corporation with limited liability in 1996.
Since its foundation the academy is substantially funded by its partners, the Federal German state of Rhineland-Palatinate (Bundesland Rheinland-Pfalz) and the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V., DLR). In addition, the EA European Academy successfully fundraises for its project work. Third party money comes from a variety of private and public funding bodies.
The EA European Academy’s Managing Director is Stefan Latussek. The chief scientist is the Deputy Director Dr. Stephan Lingner.
The Partners´ Assembly has formed a Managing Committee to which two representatives of the partners belong. The partners also nominated a Scientific Advisory Board which supports the EA European Academy in elaborating its scientific goals and projects and in evaluating research results. The External Faculty is a forum for scientific exchange.
