Tuesday, 16 January 2018
Dr. Bert Droste-Franke, head of our department energy, participated at the first German national table of experts of the WinWind („Winning social acceptance for wind energy in wind energy scarce regions“) project on January 11th at the Free University of Berlin (FU). Besides the Research Center for Environmental Policy (FFU) at FU, eleven partner organizations from Germany, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Poland and Spain are involved in the “Coordination and Support Action” of the Horizon 2020 programme.
Within the framework of WinWind research centers, national energy agencies, renewable energy organizations and consulting groups co-operate. The overall objective of WinWind is to enhance the socially inclusive and environmentally sound market uptake of wind energy by increasing social acceptance and support for wind energy in 'wind energy scarce regions'. The project analyses regional and local communities´ specific aspects, socioeconomic, spatial and environmental characteristics and the reasons for slow market deployment in selected target regions.
